Hi All,

I got overall 7.5 in IELTS:

Writing: 6.0
reading 7.5
speaking 8.0
listening 8.0

I calculate my score "from CIC website" which comes out to be 64. I heard and read that one require at least 67 points to fill the form. I am trying to understand is something I am doing wrong, or is there any other way to calculate the score. I have completed my masters but no degree from Canada and have 5+ years of experience.

Can someone help me please.

Did you calculate by hand? If you used a FSW score calculator, post the link here.

Based on the info you provided -
Language points: 22
Education points: 23
Experience points: 13
Age (assuming you're between 18 and 35 years): 12
(Arranged employment, Adaptability: 0)

Total: 70

Not enough info provided to figure out what you did wrong, but you should be eligible (assuming all the info is described accurately).

Keep in mind that you not only have to have the 67 points, but you also need to meet the funds requirement and all other EE requirements.

Maybe you just entered something wrong.

Always worth rechecking as your other information all sounds like it should be just fine.

Do you already have your ECA for your foreign degree? You also need that to create your profile.

Hi jes_ON and Andre_Smol

Thanks for your reply, how are you calculating the language points, i got 16 only. I follow the website from cic (skilled worker), according to which I am only getting 16 which is CLB 7.

Other info:

Age : 28
Regarding Fund: I think I can manage the funds but still good to know how much (if you have any idea :))

Let me know which link you are following or is there any other information required.

Thanks again for all your support and help

Hi frnds

Just now received a Schedule A background declaration request from CIC. I am 24 Feb AOR, SINP outland from India. VO will probably be NDVO

1. I got this request in at 11 PM india time and I guess, this is official timings in Canada . Does this mean my file haven't reached NDVO yet ?

2. By getting schedule A request , can I be sure that my R10, eligibility and all other statuses are fine ? I am which stage of which applications ? Please help ...

3. As per info filled in post ITA app is as follows:

Educational History:
2006-08 to 2010-08- Bachelor of Engineering
2004-04 to 2006-05 - Secondary diploma
2003-04 to 2004-03- SSC

Details filled in Personal History :
2010-11 - till date - Job 1
2010-08 to to 2010-11- job interviews
2006-08 to 2010-08- Bachelor of Engineering
2004-04 to 2006-05 - Secondary diploma (Here they asked for Personal history for Jun and Jul 2006)
2003-04 to 2004-03- SSC

added the below (highlighted in red) in the personal history in new schedule A form requested by CIC which I am going to submit now

2010-11 - till date - Job 1
2010-08 to to 2010-11- job interviews
2006-08 to 2010-08- Bachelor of Engineering
2006-05 to 2006-08- Waiting for college to start new academic year (Also attaching LOE explaining that)
2004-04 to 2006-05 - Secondary diploma (Here they asked for Personal history for Jun and Jul 2006)
2003-04 to 2004-03- SSC

Will keep the educational history same as mentioned above in new Schedule A form as well
Is this a gap , SSC completed in 2004-03 and Secondary diploma started in 2004-04 the very next month. Do I need to amend the completion date of SSC as 2004-04 to overlap days?

In education section, its not necessary to fill all gaps as CIC only intrested to know the education and educational institute details . And only in personal history we need to fulfil all gaps. My understanding correct

You can find the fund requirements here:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp

As for language points:

Each category gets its own score. So first you have to transfer your ielts score to clb system. Follow list here:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/language/charts.asp

Once you have the clb level, you add up the 4 separate scores to get your total language score. See here:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-factors.asp

In CLB system that makes:

7/9/9/9

In language score:

4+6+6+6 = 22

Thanks for the descriptive answer.

I think you are calculating individual clb's . But when I check other website it says to calculate overall i.e.

Writing: 6.0
reading 7.5
speaking 8.0
listening 8.0

will come to CLB 7, which make my point 16

Is that correct we need to calculate individually and not overall as give in the cic chart.

Yeah, each category is counted individually. Overall combined score doesnt matter.

Thats why all the tables in both links I posted show each category separately as well and dont show overall scores.

Yes, you can still update profile after you've submitted it.

Thanks

I have a question regarding the ECA. Currently I am on H1B in USA and before landed here my company did ECA from some private firm in USA. (Required to file the H1B Visa). Is that valid for filling Express entry profile.
