Dont worry about how much money as long as there's enough to support.

Yea it was inland and 5 years, it was a comedy of errors in some ways. I was told i was inadmissible dur to something that happened when i was at university that came up on my police cert i spent $3200 on lawyers TRP's and rehabs to fins out I WASNT inadmissible rehab ad TRP were denied because i didnt need them. Total mess of an experience, but hey bottom line is me the Mrs and the kids are together, i have my PR now so at least it ended happy. It all went bad from when we moved address and i went out of status the first time and my restoration was denied this was just before the 2005 ruling on filing PR whilst out of status. Then i was stuck in the US so i took the greyhound to NYC, fixed everything there, and came back on the Amtrack. Long expensive process for us. Almost a movie of the week heheheh

Sounds painful, glad you have your PR now :)

We will be filing the PR outbound for sure before we even think about crossing the border.

How did you get everything fixed in NYC? Did you then try to renenter Canada?

I went to canadian consulate in United Nations building in manhatten (luckily a good friend of mine lives there so i had place to stay which is why i went to NYC and not to MN which wouldve been the nearest) The 3 day greyhound trek wasnt fun though. The Amtrak on the way back was awesome though i had a sleeper cabin, it was fun lol, nice adventure in that sense. They looked into my file there told me what to do to get everything in order, i did as they asked, they made the relevant notes in my file so when i went back to the same border they looked up saw the notes made, cross referenced it with the proof i had in my possession and gave me a 12 month VR problem solved. In fact due to the administrative error they uncovered at the consulate they were suprised i was given such a rough ride by CIC vegreville and the CBSA at the border, but live and let live i guess.

2 years ago my then fiance (now my husband) sponsored ME to the USA, we got the first stage approval and I found out I was pregnant. We decided that it made more sense for us to live in Canada.

I still have that approval letter from the USIS, should I take that with me to the border for more proof as well?

Honestly, I think it could go either way - you had approval and the opportunity to pursue it but chose not to. If your husband has been asked (a English-based polite way of deportation...) to leave then he should do so.

If he has been previously approved to sponsor you to the US you have nothing keeping the two of you apart in the eyes of immigration.

I wouldn't bother with the US approval letter. I don't think Canadian IOs would care. When are you headed to the border?

I guess calling the CIC and asking them if there is anything else we could do to get him in status is useless? before we head to the border.

This was an error on their part...so frustrating

This may be a new topic of sorts, but in hindsight I'd rather've had the five year inland process that can't be appealed rather than the two year through Buffalo process that *can be* appealed but won't be. We could have been together here while we got it together to be together there...

I'm feeling selfish and not lonely but missing my partner.
