Dear friends,

I want to post a warning so that people are not scammed. A friend of mine got the below email, and asked me about it. Looking at it, it is obviously a scam, but I want to share it anyways so that people are aware and will be careful about it. Below is the body of the email.

• Canadian Government does not use a .com domain - only .ca
• immgovt.com is a defunct site
• In all correspondence from CIC/IRCC I have always been refered to by name and never Dear Nominee/Applicant

Its just the initial mail. Most of these start with a vague promise. Once you start responding, they will then slowly introduce charges and fees for no real tangible return. This is similar to the You have won $10,000,000 but need to pay $5,000 to claim it scam.

The mail says you have already been nominated. Almost every PNP hopeful here has gone through the pain of applying for nomination. This email is trying to claim that you have succeeded and will most definitely try and extort money sooner or later.

Yep, definitely a scam.
No such program exists.

And if it were a "provincial" nomination program, they would mention which province had issued the nomination.

Also, the language is clunky; it does not sound as though it was written by a native English speaker.

Unfortunately also includes people who have trust in humanity, and basic human decency.
