Hey everyone.. we did our on landing May 5th (me and my husband) and everything went smoothly..
Yesterday I renewed my SIN and today was my husband's turn to do so..
Once he was helped by an agent at Service Canada, she noticed that the officer didn't sign his COPR (and we didn't notice that when doing the landing - too emotional lol ) - therefore he wasn't able to get his new SIN
She advised us going back to the airport.. but we are not sure.. I am trying to contact CIC but we all know the hassle.
Any ideas on this?
Thanks

Even though its a hassle, try calling CIC because they might give you the right answer.

I’m really sorry to hear about this, I would call CIC and get some answers or go back to the CIC office and ask.

This is really showing how good are the CIC staff, how can he/she forgot to sign the COPR? Did they even stamped your husband passport?

Just go back to the airport and get it signed, it's not a catastrophe.

It is a big deal, they need this at the time of citizenship lol.
I agree with you, this is a big deal. What would have happen if this way the other way around? Would CIC or for instance; service Ontario cut them some slack! They already refused to issue the SIN number even thought everything was done and they were landed.

I had the same issue they misspelled my name wrong 4 times, 4 Effin times. and every time i call back they say its your fault, I'm like WTF maybe idk how to pronounce my name. So it's like banging head in the wall. Its Better if you correct it now.

Hey everyone.. after 2 hours on the phone, I was able to get a hold of one CIC agent.

The frustration with CIC is endless..

she got some information from us and said she would send a urgent message to Calgary's office regarding this matter. She was not able to give me a timeframe and said it can take up to a month.. if longer, we would need to submit an amendment which could take up to 6 MONTHS

So we are not sitting around waiting for CIC to resolve their own mistake.. me and hubby are going to the airport tonight, as I know they have an office located outside the arrival area. Hopefully they can resolve this as soon as possible.
