Hi I have two questions about medicals,

I'm doing a medical for my son who is 4 next week. He doesn't have a passport, but I am wondering if CIC will accept his birth Certificate as valid proof or are they rock solid about passports for medicals.

Also, I need to get some passport photo's for him for the medical. Will they accept the high street photo booth passport photos or do I have to go to a specialist and get a Canadian Immigration grade photos?

Thank you :)

1. Birth Certificate should be fine (I am assuming he is non accompanying dependent)
2. Spend the money and go to snappy snaps and get the correct photos.

Do not assume that a birth certificate will be fine. It is entirely up to the medical clinic themselves. Check out which doctor you will be seeing by contacting the designated list of doctors available and ask them what they require. For example, we had 2 options and one was 400 dollars more, plus said passports are mandatory. The other said a BC and school ID was fine and was less money... the amt of pictures they each required varied as well.

Goodluck!
