hi…..

tomorrow i am going to see an immigration lawyer..because i want ask him some questions…..

However, he asked me to bring this to the meeting tomorrow :

record of landing
passport
PR CARD
list of absences in the country…..

do you guys think it's normal ? why do i need to bring my passport? he already knows where i am from , and i saw him BEFORE and know the case. and PR CARD I COULD SIMPLY WRITE THE DATES…….why do i need to bring all of this to him???

isn't this a little suspicious or am I WORRIED FOR NOTHING? :o

He is asking you for the documents so he could possibly certify them for your case purpose. Since he is a lawyer, he is able to certify the required documents. Do not worry, he is just following the usual requirements.

unless your passport is fake and you misinterpreted your dates, you are okay, lol...

you should ask these questions to your lawyer and not on this webpage...

sorry had to say this...

Good luck!

haha..........why would my passport be fake?

and no..i can ask wherever i want..this forum is free and i am free to write and ask wherever i want.........this is one of the rights of a canadian citizen - FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION..............well I'm almost there..amost CANADIAN LOL

very true! but you were not expressing anything; you were asking a question and its an odd space to get an answer to your question.

"Never lie to your lawyer or your doctor."

May be he like to cross check your statements with original documents!

yes i am expressing my FREEDOM OF ASKING A QUESTION…whichever i want……..!

who's talking about lying here……..on the other hand….i never met with this lawyer..i was the one who was afraid to bring my documents as i wasn't sure if this is a normal procedure to request such documents..i never met an immigration lawyer before….and i thought just my dates of absence would be enough and written dates of landed etc..no need for others….anyways whatever

My friend, you don't get the point in the proverb I quoted. No offense intended..Earlier you said you know him, so I said he may want to verify everything..now you are saying you don't know him...Actually you are self contradicting on your posts.
Anyway, sorry to say that nobody here will be able to give you THE perfect answer except the lawyer asked for it.

Your lawyer will be able to give you better advice and better answers to your questions if he has some knowledge of your history. The documents he requested will provide part of the history.

QUESTION:

has anyone have ever heard about this lawyer Ms Nancy Elliot from www.canadaimmigrationlawyers.ca ??? Any reviews ???

Well, it could be to help him/her give you sound legal advice or perhaps if all goes well and you decide to retain the lawyer, they will already have everything needed to prepare the application for you (for a fee ofcourse).
You may want to write down all yours questions, so that you don't forget.

Here's what I found about her: http://www.elliottlawfirm.ca/about.html
http://canadaimmigrationlawyers.ca/about-us/
testimonials page: http://canadaimmigrationlawyers.ca/about-us/testimonials/

But really though, why do you need a lawyer for the citizenship application? Anyway, goodluck tomorrow.
