My immigration adviser is just about to submit to submit my PR application this September (2016), when he just notices that the forms were revised in August. He wants to charge me a further $1500 to complete the new forms. I'm paying him to be the expert; how am I responsible for his ignorance? Has anyone else had this experience - any suggestions? CIC will not accept the old forms - I checked.

The vast majority of us here have done it without a lawyer.

Don't submit outdated forms. You need to complete the new ones. CIC doesn't give any notice when new forms are posted - they just post them one day and that's what you have to use going forward. Your lawyer had no way of knowing new forms were coming. However charging you $1500 to complete the new ones is a different matter - and a conversation between you and your lawyer.

Again, most of us here have done it on our own.

That is not your fault. The Advisor was hired by you to take care of the Sponsorship application and is responsible for submitting the most updated forms...

Personally I would report him to the Law Society in your province.

Demand your entire application back and finish it yourself with the updated forms.
