Hi,

I want to apply for the Canadian PR in the CEC category. Can anyone tell me which are the best and the most reliable immigration consultants whom I can approach to get my Canadian PR most effectively. I am interested to know about the immigration consultants that are located in Toronto, Canada and also that are based in India.

Thanks.

You can apply PR without the help of an immigration consultant. You just have to follow the rules in CIC site.
Most of the people have applied for the PR under CEC without the help of a consultant. You can learn a lot from here.

Everybody has their own views. Here is my story:

While in India, I went to Canadian Education seminar held by Govt of Canada & I met Mr. Edward Koach of Ferreira And Koach Immigration services (who were also present with other immigration consultants) in Mumbai. He talked to me in details about his role as an immigration consultant & helped me with my queries. Finally me & my friend approached him for our study permit. Under his guidance & paperwork, We came to Canada on student visa to complete my MBA from University of Toronto. They helped us get our off-campus work permit at the same time. After finishing up our course, We applied for post graduation work permit for 3 years. After that, the company I was working for hired him to help me get a positive LMO for 3 consecutive years. In the meantime, I hired him for my PR under CEC category also. He sat with me in his toronto office & went step by step in filling up all the forms. Also, he asked me to be very accurate about my travel history, employment records, family details. He also helped me in writing a cover letter about my history, my future goals in Canada & why I chose Canada to settle down in order to give weightage to my application.

Finally earlier today, I received an email from CPP - O giving me 1 of the great news in my life of Medical Request & Passport Request. Now I tell you that Mr. Ed has only charged me the fees for my PR file only. And he hasn't charged me a single dime for his guidance on my PGWP & LMO process for my employer.

So in my personal opnion, it all depends upon the track record & how geniune the immigration consultant is. Mr. Edward Koach was working in Canadian Consulate all over the world has an experience of more than 25 years in the immigration field. Most of my friend applied through him & none of them as ever received any negative feedback from CIC as of yet. Whenever someone asks me if I know any immigration consultant, I always refer Mr. Ed's name.

I once again say that everybody has their views, some has positive, some has negative. But final decision lies with you!!!!

Are you seriously that he didn't charge anything for the PGWP & lmo? cause I paid alot

he didnt charge me a single penny for PGWP or LMO. He only charged me for the file processing of my CEC application

There is NOT a single question or query in CEC application, that can not be answered by an educated person.

Since you were able to find this forum, and login + create a thread for your question, I am sure you can apply by yourself.

An agent can be a great asset, as you can read from esbex's comment. Your agent can take the whole burden off of your shoulder. All you have to do is, spend some time with him, and supply him necessary information & documents. Then get your PR when the time comes.

On the other hand, an agent who is lazy, uncaring to his clients "Yes Yes, we will do everything for you - you will get PR in 6months, Just pay this $3000, and we are ready to start" - will probably destroy your future!

But yes, CEC application is mostly done by applicants themselves, with very little outside help.

And this forum is very helpful. Choice is yours.

I did my application by myself, it got a little complicated because of a denied Work permit, so i hired a lawyer out of Toronto... he is great, but honestly, I am educated, and I share with him the information I get on this forum, and he is not nearly as "in tune" with CIC as this forum is... he may know the "law" but this forum provides much more valuable and practical information about CIC and Cec applications, I think lawyers and consultants are a waste of money because you have all the answers and support you need right here... And so many members are willing to spend quality time to help fellow immigrants, it's an awesome "community", Just like Canada itself ;D

I will never suggest anyone for a lawyer or Immigration consultant when it comes to application of PR . If you can spend years studying in this country I am pretty sure you can fill some forms and every other kind of help you can get from this forum. Like a lot of people on here I did my application myself and I am very happy with that decision. I will always appreciate the guidance I got from the members of this forum.

It depends upon person to person. Not all are 100% confidants like some. Also, every case is different. Some has medical problems, some has financial problems, some has security problems. Also, on this forum noone is pressuring anyone to hire any lawyer. There is BIG difference between hiring lawyer & an Immigration consultant. Also, they have better & indepth knowledge then anybody here in this forum with regards to every changing rules & regulations of CIC.

Anyways its a personal opinion, I hired my consultant cuz many of my friends got their PR cuz of him & I knew I was in safe hands..
