Oh my. This is scary. How could this happen?

Re: Immigration applications mailed to Torornto man

How incompetant CIC are, Its time for CIC to have a security shake up their selves , rather than them scrutinize honest applicants ..this makes me feel physicaly sick, its a good job this man was honest , who knows what could have happened if these personel documents were in the wrong hands.

Totally disgusted!

hehe Oh, good. Something new to worry about. I was running low. ;)

Eww Canada Post, and I thought that the Western union girls at Quebec were doing a sloppy job every time I went to pick out money coming from abroad and they never asked for an ID then be surprised when I wanted to fill a complaint lol.

"... "But the CIC employee he spoke with “didn't seem to be concerned at all,” Messner said." It doesn't surprise at all, they never do actually. :/

But having such important personal information, that can easily be misused to harm somebody's identity, be treated like regular fliers, isn't acceptable!

Thats a bit violent isnt it :o

Thats was bit ironic, wasn't it?

I am beginning to think now that my VO has tried contacting me at the wrong address even though they have everything on file. It's been almost 6 months since my interview was approved and yet I am dying to hear something from my VO.

This is some scary $hit and CIC really need to pull their socks up and do their jobs properly putting CUSTOMERS first.

This is a huge Privacy Act violation....where are the watch dogs on this one???

This is scary!! My partner mailed my application to re instate my status by regular mail!!! He did not realize its important to send it by registered mail. This is causing me sleepless nights :(

We are not customers, sad but true :(

:o
Bless his heart for doing the proper thing though.
Does anyone though find it suspicious that they were ALL from Cuba trying to be sponsored?
What to they do there, organize them by country?

I wish CIC had put more concern with this circumstance though. We're already risking our lives to be with our spouses/partners and now they don't seem to care about the privacy of our lives. I hope this NEVER happens again.

By the way, was anyone else sizing up the applications to see what theirs were like?
Some were very tiny and others like on the left side were HUGE. Just goes to show the variety in applications which I can only imagine by looking at the table what it must look like in the visa offices.

hehe Yes. I was totally measuring mine against theirs. ;)

I'm not sure what the process was, but they all look very uniform. It sounds like they were being moved from Mississauga after Sponsorship approval. It says he submitted his application to them in early February, and it is now March - the right timeline to get sponsorship approval and send the applications on to Cuba.

Or, perhaps it was from a lawyer/consultant that specializes in Cuban/Canadian couples.
