We are using an agent which can be difficult as we do not know exact day of submission but I read here 45-60 days to receive some form of acknowledgement. We live in Wales, I am a Canadian citizen sponsoring my husband. When I looked on govt website I could see no medical offices listed in Wales.
I am confused in regards to the COPR letter when it says process takes a year. Is it the COPR Letter you receive first than once you are in Canada you would receive a PR visa or within the year do you receive both. Also my husband would like to work in Canada so what documents are needed to obtain his SIN card and what would be the earliest he could apply for work. Thanks so much for help.

It generally takes 8-10 weeks for IRCC to acknowledge the application

The CORP is the PR visa. This is what is issued at the very end of the application process once the applicant has been approved for PR. The COPR is used to travel to Canada and enter Canada (this is called 'landing'). Once the applicant 'lands' with the COPR, they officially become a permanent resident. At that point it will be possible for your husband to apply for a SIN and work.
