I'm a Canadian citizen who had lived in Canada for 14 years. I've bachelor's degree from home country and a certificate from a Canadian college which is accredited, I also have Canadian work experience in known companies that have high reputation.

My TRUE AND SINCERE advice to you, DO NOT GO to Canada, you'll loss your money, dignity, and respect to yourself because of the following:

1- Your education will be recognized as a graduate from accredited university but no employer would consider it, therefore, you WILL NEVER get a job in your specialization.
2- You have to study in Canada even if you've a bachelors degree with high GPA, it does not matter for Canadian employers, you must have a Canadian education to get a good job.
3- You will be discriminated. Definitely, it will happen, because of your skin color, English accent, culture, religion, or higher skills. Forget what the law says there, watch what the people say.
4- You will sell your car/withdraw your savings from your bank and make your booking looking for the bright future in Canada but you will get no savings, you will barely pay your bills and will have a few hundred dollars in your bank account at the end of each year.
5- Your children will get discriminated at school or in some public places and you may loos the ties with them because the culture in Canada. Children in Canada do NOT respect their parents as much the children do in East or family-oriented countries.
6- It will be hard to find a good job. However, Canadian high-school graduates will get the job you're looking for, simply because their Canadian high-school certificate and discrimination against foreigners.
7- You will get Canadian citizenship but it would not add anything to you except a Canadian passport.
8- You will live in sever cold weather, almost 9 months each year, and that may affect your mood, activity, or health.
9- You will meet racist people in public places who will ask you to go back to your home country despite that their parents came as an immigrants.
10- You will regret your coming to Canada and blame yourself for the opportunities you missed in your home country because of going to Canada.

IF you do not care about which job you might get or which place you will live at, but only the money then you could try it.

Why Canada does want hundred thousands of immigrants every year? because immigrants pay tax every year, rent houses or apartments, buy food on weekly basis, buy air tickets to come to Canada and go home for vacation, pay immigration and landing fees, and use public transportation and other services.

Imagine 200,000 immigrants every year, each one of them pays to government an average of $1500 ( application and landing fees), so $300,000,000, just revenues from applications process.

In addiction to that, $500 is paid by every applicant who is not qualified and his application is denied, a few hundred thousands of immigrants apply for that every year.

All that will add much revenues to Canadian government every year, so you're the golden egg that gives Canada more money .

I hope you will understand

FYI - Immigration fees aren't a revenue stream for Canada. The fees paid by applicants only cover 50% of the expense to process applications. The rest is covered by Canadian taxpayers. So the fee structure actually operates at a significant loss for Canada each year.

I don't know what to say.

For the kids part, well, know where you are going to. The culture is different. Children are taugh to love their parents. Not to just blindly respect. So it's your choice to bring your children to Canada, expect them to be more Canadian.

And you didn't check the weather before you immigrated? It depends on which part of Canada you settle (or never settle).
I so much prefer Canadian weather than the hot humid days in Asia.

“ The culture in Canada ?”
Unless you renounced your countries citizenship, nothing is stopping you from renouncing your Canadian citizenship, if you feel Canada is such a rotten place.

Here is a link

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/canadian-citizenship/renounce-canadian-citizenship.html#:~:text=If you renounce your Canadian, for a permanent resident visa.
I did not go to Canada as a refugee, or broke man. I'm here to advice people to know the situation there, we have not heard from others about these problems, otherwise, I personalty would not waste my time and go there.

Some people get irritated when you tell the truth about Canada, do you want everyone go blind and suffer to be happy?

For me, I know about the weather very well and got very familiar with it even when it went to - 35 or below that but I'm telling others to know the situation there, so I may save someone's future that he/she still thinking Canada is the land of dreams.

It's our due deligence to tell people the truth and let them decide, not to deceive them by saying Canada is the best, come to our country to achieve your dreams, after that they will suffer and accept low-level jobs in cleaning and security while high-school Canadian kids are getting management jobs!.

I don't think that's the point. I am sorry that you experienced what you've experienced.

I am a visible minority, I speak with an accent, and as you see, my English isn't that great. I didn't experience as bad racial discrimation as you've had. If any one told me to go back to my home country, I will swear back and tell them that this IS my home country. (and make sure that I report hate crime to police) Canadian passport is my first and ONLY passport.

A few of the points don't make sense to me but well, it's your own experience. If there is a choice, employers prefers someone from a known university (it doesn't have to be Canadian. I am sure ppl will hire someone from Stanford or Oxford over one from a Canadian university if he/she has the right match for the job). I am surprised that you didn't try to get some local education to learn the work/school culture. And unless you are fresh from university, no one look at your GPA after a few years of work experience.

Canada is not the best for everyone. And before immigrating to a new country, ppl should do their homework. There is always a choice to move back or move to yet another country. Like what you did.

Problem is people like you think Canada is some sort of heaven where once you land, Canadians will welcome you with open arms, give you free houses and make you managers. Any other country where this happens? Countries like India and China, you can't even work any shitty jobs as foreigners unless youre white expat

Unless you can move to US/few euro countries, Canada is still a top place to move to

For everyone interested to go to Canada, please be informed that your education will be ignored even if you have PhD, you will be discriminated by red-neck guys, you will have two options either to work in cleaning. security, or landscaping.....etc or struggle to pay your bills.

During 14-year stay in Canada, I've met doctors, engineers, accountants, teachers who were working a security guard, drivers, or working at McDonald's or Walmart store.

Canada is not the right place to go to if you have dark/black skin, Muslim name, poor English accent, bachelor's degree or higher from your home country, or having kids that you love them. You will loss your kids and get no savings, you will be working just to pay your bills, and you will forget your career that you love.

You'll meet red-neck guys who will ask you go back to your home country, you will get discrimination at work or even by neighbors around you.

Get a respect for yourself & your family.

This is an advice from a Canadian citizen who spent more than 14 years in Canada and decided to leave it to have a respect for myself.

Good luck.

To make you feel comfortable, yes I did left Canada, I regret that I did not take my decision earlier to save my time
Why not go one step further and renounce your Canadian citizenship? Clearly you don't want to be Canadian, so just make it official. Here, I'll help you get started: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/application-forms-guides/application-renounce-canadian-citizenship-subsection-9-1.html?msclkid=d65f97d2d00711ecb1f8f94adc70b056

Will you pay me the money I paid for landing and application process? Will you compensate me about the years I have spent in sever cold weather? will you pay me the application fees for citizenship?

Are you a government official and entitled to represent Canadian government to ask me to give up my citizenship?

if you 're not, then keep your mouth shut and respect others, your advice could be addressed as an illegal action and you could be accountable for it if your full name and address is known.

Learn how to move on and be unbiased person when you have a discussion with others. I DID NOT ask you about any links or your advice to send me a link about renouncing citizenship.
