Immigrating to Canada from SA with Student Loan in SA

I have a student loan in South Africa and I am about a third of the way through paying it off. But I want to move to Canada within the next two years and I don't know if my student loan debt will keep me from immigrating or whether I will be denied permanent residency because of it.

If not, I just want to know whether I will be able to pay my loan back while living in Canada even if I move there permanently. I don't want to just leave SA and mess up my credit record here by not paying back my loan because I know this will affect me on an international scale. Please can someone give me clear advise on how to do pay my loan back from Canada on a month to month bases without getting my parents to take the loan onto their name.

Nobody will even ask you about the loan, so don't worry.

Your South African loan does not have anything to do with your immigration process in Canada. Although if I were you I would make sure that I will pay off my loan to leave a clean trace for future. For yourself and your family.

Best of luck,
