Hi folks,
Myself, husband and 2 small children (ages 3F & 2M) plan to immigrate to Canada this year as it's something we have discussed for many years now. We are completely mystified as to what area to move to! We love just about everything we have seen/heard. We are irish and live in rural N/W Ireland. We don't want to live in centre of a city but not a thousand miles from one either. We have considered enquiring about buying a house/farm in a more rural northerly part to live/work in the summer and perhaps spend winters in Vancouver area. Are we dreamers? Any advice or wisdom you can bestow will be most gratefully received. Many thanks.

Only advice is that the further north or east you go, the colder the winters will be. Even in downtown Vancouver, we had snow four times this winter - each time lasting one to three days.

We just moved here in London, Ontario a year ago and we find the place very ideal for growing family. Properties are still not as expensive as in Milton, Mississauaga, Oakville, Toronto. The best medical school is located here, Western University. There are still farm properties for sale.
