Do we have to carry filled PR card forms at the time of landing, or we get at port of entry ?

If we can fill it prior to landing does the form require all the info in it, it is bit confusing.
We are not required to fill any forms for PR card at any stage. IO at POE would ask you to sign on COPR and provide a Canadian address for them to send the PR card to. Only form that may be required to be filled is B4A, that too if one has expensive items like jewellery, electronic items in 'to follow' category.

Copy of the B4a form, along with pictures of jewelry, is stamped by a customs officer and handed over to you. It is record of what you are going to bring to Canada at a later stage. No form is required for whatever we are taking with us at the time of first landing, as customs authorities are not interested in keeping any record of such items. All our belongings, irrespective of their value, we are allowed to carry with us. Of course, we can not take banned items with us.

Some people are much worried about credit evaluation, bridge courses, initial settlement jobs. Please read the following link which will help professionals for ready settlement, though there is no credential evaluation required as mandatory for all jobs but you can take cheap bridging course from york university.

This is interesting, do you have an idea approximately - how much would a management course cost & what's normally the duration of those courses? Would a bridging course be considered as Canadian experience?

Please be clear that this is not a management course i.e neither MBA, nor Diploma, this a bridge training program which provide training for methodologies used in profession and professional environment of business in Canada. There is huge cultural difference in business and professions in Asian and American countries so they try to bridge it, for ex in Asian countries like India if you have any problem you can directly send email to CEO or Regional head but in Canada it will be treated as indiscipline, so here they make professionals understand the HR policies and other tools and processes which they might not aware of. Secondly they arrange interviews for them and introduce them to HR of big companies which trust them as the candidates are trained and their assessment was completed and advised by such big institutions

There are also govt agencies which are workin in collaboration with big banks and refer new immigrant candidates to them i.e Access Employment.

You can open link I have provided to you for more details and similar programs are also offere by George Brown College also for different professionals the course fees generally doesn't exceed $2000 and duration is 36-45 hours which is completed in 1-2 months.

Hello Qorax & Seniors,

I am currently in U.S on H1B visa holding Canadian COPR visas and am planning to complete my Canadian permanent residence landing next week with my family in Toronto Pearson Intnl airport, Canada. We need to be back to U.S in a week time after we complete our Canadian landing. With that said, I have the following questions as appropriate to the topics related to our Canadian landing.

1. For the Proof Of Funds during landing, I will be carrying a single Cashier's check of the whole amount (USD 17500 which is more or equivalent to CAD 17011) for my whole family (a family of 3) payable to myself and NOT endorsed. My questions on this topic are:

(a) I understand that I can carry USD for my family's PoF during landing and carry it as one single Cashier's check for the whole required amount. Is my understanding correct?

(b) I will be flying with my family from Boston, USA airport to Toronto Pearson Intnl airport, Canada to complete my landing. I do NOT have any plans to deposit the cashier's check in Canada and as such, we will be returing to U.S with the same cashier's check. Having said that we need to declare any negotiable funds/instruments of USD 10,000 to US CBP while leaving and getting into U.S, do I need to declare this cashier's check (value of 17500 USD payable to myself and NOT endorsed) at the Boston, USA airport (both during when I fly from USA to Canada and back to US)?

(c) Does this cashier's check need to be mentioned in the "Goods To Accompany" list?

2. Regarding the aspect of carrying Jewelry in the "Goods To Accompany" list, I have the following questions on this topic:

(a) Do we need to mention the jewels we wear during landing in the GTA list?

(b) If so, there are some jewels which my wife(she belongs to a specific Indian community) wants to wear all-time and to NOT take off from her body anytime anywhere due to traditional reasons. Further to my understanding from Qorax & Seniors that it is better to take pictures of the Jewels that we refer in GTA/GTF list, how should I manage this issue on "traditional jewelry" ?

3. In terms of referring electrical and/or electronic stuff in my GTA/GTF list, in addition to their values, should I mention their Manufacturer-Serial-No (or) IMEI-No (or) Any-Other-Related-Details?

4. As I am flying with my infant, I need to carry medications and baby foods as well in the flight to Canada . My questions on this topic are as follows.

(a) Would there be any problems if I carry these baby foods in check-in baggage?

(b) Can we carry "Over the Counter" medications (Pediacare for my infant, Multi-Vitamins for us) in check-in-baggage?

(c) Can we carry "Gerber" products for infant food? Are there any food/medicines (be it for adult/infant) which we should NOT carry in the flight?

I regret for my lengthy content and please advice me on my above mentioned queries at your earliest convenience.

Thank you.
