Immigrants lag behind Canadian-born in job prospects

Read the comments to really understand how some people think about immigrants and locals for jobs. As always some people support new immigrants and some don't. From the report it is clear that its lot difficult to find jobs in the following provinces:

1) Quebec
2) Ontario
3) British Colombia

And looks like Alberta is the place to be for new immigrants.

This issue is a no-brainer. Of course Canadians will give its work to Canadians.

I have experienced this first-hand in British Columbia. I was applying for a mere care aide position in I think ALL nursing homes in Vancouver and they won't accept me in preference to those who are locally educated. I asked one employer what is the difference between myself (as an RN in the Philippines with a 5 year experience in total patient care AND registered with a number in BC Care Aide) and those locally educated care aides. The white woman told me that I should not complain about the management's policy and start from rock bottom just like everybody else. Real inspiring huh?

Sheesh. It was a good thing I left Canada already.
