Dear readers / PMM

I would appreciate your response on the situation, in which the Principal Applicant meets the immigration requirement for maintaining two years of stay out of 5 years in Canada, while his / her dependents don't meet the required stay duration requirements?

Is it possible to extend their visa under any circumstances or they will have to reapply for resident visa? or is it possible for them to enter Canada and apply for resident status from there? What would be the best possible option?

Thanks in Advance!

Is that the case? Does anyone know if this is true or what is the current rule?
Its still 2 years residence out of 5, if the dependents don't meet the residency requirement then they would have to be sponsored by the parent who met the requirements.

Thanks PMM,

Could you also tell, that usually how long does it take to receive residency again in such a case, where the person who met the requirements reapplies for those who could not qualify?

Regards,

Look at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/times-int/menu-perm.html it will give you the general time for the country where the applicants reside.
