I guess I will do as Toby did. Send them 2 sets. I set with names and all written and 1 set with only 1 photo written at the back. My country only requires 5 photos. Will go and get it taken again today.

"The photos must:
be identical (black and white or colour) produced from the same untouched negative, or exposed simultaneously by a split-image or multi-lens camera."

What does untouched negative mean?
We got our pictures done but they were slightly photoshopped so know I'm not sure if we can use them or not.
Is the photographer not supposed to do that in this case because it should be 'untouched'?

It simply means if it was shot on film you can't retouch the negative. Back in the olden days people physically touched up negatives. Much like photoshoping digital pictures. Which by the way is also not allowed.

Some VOs require one photo with the info and some require on all. It will specifically say "one" if it only want's one. Notice the quote form the USA information below and how it differs from the others.

On the back of one photo in each set, write the name and date of birth of the person appearing in the photo as well as the date the photo was taken. Enclose each set of photos in separate envelopes. Write the family member's name, date of birth and relationship to you on the corresponding envelope and close the envelope with a paper clip
.

This is something new. My VO is New Delhi and I didn't write anything on any photos. Can anyone from ND please conform if we needed to write anything? As per guide, I didn't find anything specific :( I am confused..

jstnmlr, can you please provide a link to where you found the above quote for USA photo specifications (specifically regarding how many, if any, to write on/sign)? I can't find anything about where to write information on the back of these photos (looking at Appendix B in the USA specific forms).

I am also confused. applying through Sydney australia and the guide makes no mention of writing on the back. i was also worried about having a stamp on the back from the photographer so I only had the date stamped on the back so at least they know they are recent.

unless someone has any advice about the sydney office I will just send them with nothing written.... just with the date stamped?
