IMM5768: Employment history, Gross Income/Benefits for period

I am trying to fill out the IMM5768 which is the financial evaluations for parents and grandparent sponsorships. Question 14 asks about employment history and there is a column named "Gross Income/Benefits for period".

Should I put in the exact amount of salary I made during my time at a company or should I put in my annual income?

Gross income is the amount you have made in a year including bonuses BEFORE any taxes are taken off. I am not sure what they mean when they say benefits.

Can someone please shed some light on this question ?
Do we need to split down each year if worked for the same employer during all THREE taxation years?
or just put one entry and sum up total gross income during three years?
