If she was doing a student internship through her college/university during her 4 year program then theoretically you shouldn't have to list the short internships. The same goes for Vacations during her 4year term...you don't have to list the vacations. Most internships are counted as credit for the degree program she is enrolled in, so it is treated as student credits.

I will let the other senior members chime in on this.

For example, if you were working and in between you went for holidays you don't need to list that holiday BUT if you were working and then left your job and then went on vacation you will need to list both work and vacation.

I know of other people you had their internship organized by the school as a project so they were theoretically a student so they never put it down separately.

The safe route would be to list the internships, just list it as "Student-Intern"

I also had to do a "since 18" version of the form, even though that was many years ago.

I didn't include vacations or work visits of a few weeks, mainly because there was no possible way that I could have accounted for every week...

I simply don't have ANY records of some of the trips I took because immigrating to another country was the last thing that was likely to happen to me back then.

I suggest a somewhat pragmatic methodology...

Put all in order of time, date to date

Also, if she lived more than 6 months, she needs FBI PCC too ( even if not lived more than 6 months at 1 stretch - be ready with it )

Need to include vacation too, says in the form

Where? I just double checked the most recent version of that form.... In my GCMS notes, there is no evidence that the lack of vacation information was of concern to the Visa Office.

It says travelling, which is not a synonym to vacation. He must have assumed they meant the same.
Travelling for months should be included, but not days or few weeks as a vacation.

"London, 2008-12-22 to 2008
-12-24" weekend getaway

It clearly states that you need to mention travel, if you never mentioned it then they never knew about it. I am not sure what passport you hold but going by the OPs post, she is a Pakistani (probably holding a Pakistani Passport ) - which requires visas to almost all countries. Places like Pakistan and India have exit and entry immigration ( i.,e stamps for leaving and coming back ). VO's ( especially in that part of the world ) are pretty diligent in checking passport stamps, so if she doesn't mention the visits, and they find that in the passport, it can delay or question the application
If I am not mistaken, office specific instructions has form for travel history too

Travel can be anything - vacation, work

Point here is to be be clear. I am wring this with experience ( in my PGP case ) where they wanted all activities ( including foreign trips ). You are only providing through information and considering how much time it takes for ISL VO and each missing information adds to it, its only advisable to provide detailed info

Need to Provide Travel History with exact dates as well ( Countries Visited with Purpose ) So basically it needs to be in both places whereas here they require specific date and travel only

It states "If you were not working..." and then gives examples of alternatives... Nothing about vacation during periods of employment.

They don't have to spell everything out :D ( Also, see my last post about Travel History ) . By the way, do you hold a UK passport which doesn't require visas? coz it's different ballgame when it comes to other places

Interestingly, they never asked for my folks Travel History form with exact dates but I made sure I added that in Personal History ( it was blatantly obvious with 5 passports and stamps to US and other parts of the world ) .Even though my father never lived in US for more than 3 weeks in his 19 trips over a span of 25 years, they asked his FBI PCC as it said significant travel. Now, I anticipated that and had it handy - so caused no delays whatsoever. They ask for details of travel to match your passport as it boils down to security as well ( Basically anything other than 1st World Passports have it rough )

Interestingly, many have come across this in the past

Another thread here - some mention vacations, some don't.

This is definitely a grey area. CIC really needs to provide more details explaining the question. The Travel History form for India and Pakistan Country Specific forms clearly asks for Entry/Exit for each travel which makes it clear. BUT Question 8 of IMM5669 does not explicitly ask for this. I mean what if a business executive travels frequently out of the country for meetings? He is still employed but travelling at the same time. You would have some drastic overlaps. Same thing goes if you are a student and travelled for a student project or internship term. You are still a student at that time but was travelling for that purpose.

Also, the form only allows you to only enter Year and Month. So you could potentially have parallel events occur during the same month in a situation where you are working and travelling within the same month. Also, note that in the last column it asks Name of Company, Employer, School, Facility, as applicable. This implies to me that the intent is to capture work history, unemployment, education, and long term travel etc. For example you travelled to another country for volunteer work..then yes this should be put down but short vacation's would be questionable.

Unfortunately, this question is subject to personal interpretation. If Question 8 of IMM5669 actually required you to enter Entry/Exit for overlapping time periods then why in the world would they even create the Country Specific Entry/Exit Travel History form since this information would have to be provided in Question 8. If they wanted such specific information they would include a day field as well.

The two questions serve different purposes in my opinion.

Ok, I am seriously freaking out now.... We did not put in that my husband visited Canada on 2 occasions for several months. Is this going to be a problem, and what should I do?
They just requested a new IMM5669 a month ago and also a new medical. We only filled in his school and work history.
Please help!!!!

Please don't panic about this. This is a very grey area of the questionnaire. There are many here that have put down vacations and some that haven't. Like yourself many other's have their thoughts about this question and unfortunately it is not 100% clear for overlapping time periods. They mention not to leave any gaps which almost implies not putting down overlapping activities but rather the primary activity.

Were these vacations or visits in overlapping periods of employment or education? I see you mentioned several months. How many months was it? Was it vacation, work, studying?

From what I have read, if the VO had concerns he would ask for you to provide specific details with regards to personal history.
