Hello, I'm having difficulty with the 'why are you not living together' question in the Imm5532 form. I married and had the wedding last month (December 2023). After the wedding she stayed in Italy and I returned to Canada. She is an Italian citizen, so technically she could have came to Canada with me as a visitor, however we decided to apply for PR first then she will come in a few months once the PR application had time to process further, that way she doesn't have to go and come back as a visitor. But I'm not sure how to answer this question in the form, is saying we are waiting for the pr application to process before she moves here a acceptable answer? Any suggestions how to word it properly?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Perhaps this may help:

Edit: It likely will NOT, since this seems to be an error in the example:

The applicant ticked `No', yet are being asked to give details, in the table shown, as if they'd answered `Yes'.

I think you should simplify and just say she had some responsibilities (name a few) in her home country to deal with and/or would like to be able to work when she becomes a PR.

Could you please clarify the last part? Why would being able to work when she gets her PR mean she didn't come to Canada on a visitor visa?

But if it wasn't clear, what I am saying is ... if you want to state a reason, then state a reason. Keep it simple.

She is an Italian citizen, so technically she could have came to Canada with me as a visitor, however we decided to apply for PR first then she will come in a few months once the PR application had time to process further, that way she doesn't have to go and come back as a visitor.

Because I for one still don't understand what the reason hidden in that word salad might be.

Yes - lots of people do outland
So just explain - we are not living together as the PA wants to earn and income while we wait for the application for PR to process so there is no loss in earnings
or something like that
