Hello,

I’m the sponsor, applying on behalf of my wife under a family class, spousal, outbound application. My wife was married once before and got separated and divorced. She's now married to me.

I’d like to know the following about question 7 on page 2
of IMM5532 …“Previous Relationships”

It asks for 3 dates:
(1) Length of Relationship …“From”date … (year/month only)
(2) Length of Relationship …“To”date …(year/month only)
(3) Date of divorce,death,or separation … (year/month only)

I have the following dates for my wife’s former marriage, separation, and divorce:
- ceremony date
- marriage registration date
- separation date
- divorce registration date

What dates do I enter for the 3 date fields in question 7?
Is (1) the date the marriage was registered? I would think so.
Is (2) the separation date or the date divorce was registered? Not sure
Is (3) the date the divorce was registered? It would make sense

Thank you for your assistance!

1) would normally be the ceremony date. However, I guess it depends on the local laws.
2) is separation date, when the marriage was effectively over. Many countries require a separation of at least one year before divorce proceedings can start.
3) is date of the final divorce decree from the court (or local equivalent).
