There is a question/staement near the end of the IMM5490E application form (after question 30) that says:

On a separate sheet of paper, provide any additional details of your current relationship that you believe would help to prove your relationship is genuine and continuing

I have already given so much information in the other questions that I feel like I haven't left anything out... AND I am also in the process of cross referencing extra information in the application form to the evidence section that contains originals/photocopies of (ie photo, bills, etc).

So with all this in mind can I safely assume that my 'DOCUMENTS EVIDENCE' section will be enough to answer that CIC statement OR do I need to write an ESSAY like some others have done?

I'm really confused about what strategy to adopt for this statement.

If someone could iron this out for me I would be very grateful, thanks!!!

I'm going to include everything single thing that I have to demonstrate to the VO that our relationship is genuine. When my wife was working, we would chat on Gmail. There are hundreds of chats that I will print and include. All birthday cards, letters, itineraries, e-mails, pictures, statements from friends, etc. will be included. Since we are a genuine married couple with a child, I'm going to make absolutely sure the VO understands that this relationship is the real deal. I have a letter of intent from an employer in my home town, and I am also a registered student at Athabasca University. I have e-mails from mortgage specialists, where it shows I am enquiring about our options to buy a house, something we have saved for, since renting would be a waste of our money. I'm even going to include our rental contracts showing that we have lived together since 2006.

When I am done collecting the proof that our relationship is genuine, I'm going to need to rent a 20 foot container to send the application! That would be hilarious seeing a VO going to the port to receive a container.

The most important thing is that you include absolutely everything and also explanations. Make sure you organize everything, and triple check all the applications before sending them to Canada.

Good luck!
