I am answering the questions on form IMM5490 about how we met (online), how our relationship developed, the wedding, ect. I know they say to use a separate paper because there is not enough space. Does anyone has any advice? Should I write it like a story, tell it from the heart, or just the facts? should I give alot of details? Can I make reference to the evidence we are turning in?

Please give me some feedback. Any advice or suggests are welcome and I would most grateful. :)

PS. CanadaVisaForum Rocks! This forum has helped my husband and I sooo much already.

We answered the questions with basic information, leaving the last sentence to read "Please see our Evidence of Relationship packet for more information."

You'll likely have 3 folders, within your giant envelope (or box for some):

Folder 1- Sponsor's forms and required documents.

Folder 2- Applicant's forms and required documents.

Folder 3- Evidence of Relationship ( filled with information that outlines and confirms you relationship).

Good luck!

Oh...and I couldn't agree more about this wonderful `gold mine' of help and support!

Yeah, the space they give you to describe how you fell in love with someone and decided to spend the rest of your life with them just isn't enough room...so what we did was write out the development on the form in a very factual way. "We met on Twitter in March. We talked on the phone in May. We met in person in July etc etc..." And then included personal essays/letters written by each of us to give a more personal and heartfelt explanation of our relationship and included those in the "supporting documents" section of the principal applicants folder. I've heard a lot of people just filled out the forms and didn't feel it was necessary to give more detail than was asked, but we wanted to make 150% sure a stranger could read through our application and really understand our relationship story. good luck!
