Yes she definitely is. I am the principal applicant and my wife is a dependant applicant, she has to fill her own IMM 5406 form and sign it as an applicant of this form.

Who needs to fill out this application form?

This form must be completed by:

You, as the principal applicant,
Your spouse or common-law partner (whether accompanying you to Canada or not), and
Your dependent children aged 18 or over (whether accompanying you to Canada or not).
SECTION A

Write the personal details for:

yourself,
your spouse or common-law partner, (if applicable)
your mother, and
your father.

From another thread:
"You filled out one with you as the applicant, and now your wife completes another one as the applicant (nowhere on the form does it say principle applicant, it just says applicant.)"

+1 to this...

seems ksa sir has filled the form other-way around....

For your info,I have filled 6 FSW FORMS for friends and they have all got
their PER and AOR.

The form is simple and straight forward.

Best of luck to you.

In the first form I was the applicant with my wife as spouse, my parents , our children and my siblings' details.

In the second form, wife as applicant, me as spouse, her parents, our children and her siblings' details.

It has to be like this since it is possible that you/spouse could have children from a previous marriage.

hi i am applying under fsw dependent, i had my UK visa refused in 2008 because of POF, later after sorting that i got that visa and stayed UK for 4 years, could anyone plz suggest whether i should explain that in schedule A of FSW dependent application. my application is ready to post.

KSA0510 is right.

There is no such terminology as "dependant applicant" on IMM 7000 intruction guide or anywhere else on CIC help, glossary, whatever...
Applicant is always the principal applicant. The other ones (spouse or common-law partner and children, going or not with the applicant to Canada) are always dependant on CIC terminology.

So, on both forms "applicant" means the principal applicant.

Thank you Spartan2 for throwing more light into this issue.I kept quite because of it.
God will bless you abundantly. How is your application going and any news from CIC?
Have a sweet day

We are just trying to help each other... You are a valuable asset to this forum KSA0510. Please, dont keep quite.
I am a little late on this process. I am finishing up with all my documentation and form completion and will send to CIC probably next week. I am applying for the NOC 2171. I hope we still have time for that.
How about you? Have you applied long ago? How is it going?
Thanks and have a great day you too, my friend!

Guys, I strongly recommend watching this video regarding IMM5406 form:
http://immigrationcanada.pro/videos/video-tutorial-additional-family-information-form-imm5406/

Just watch it and listen to the instructions carefully.

P.S. I would also like to add that even if your made the forms other way round and they were accepted by CIC, this does not mean that the way you did it is correct. They might have accepted it anyway keeping in mind the fact the forms might be confusing for some applicants and it's not a big deal to settle the information provided in their database correctly.

I have a question for you please Mr. Ksa0510
if I go by your proposal then spouse's father name& mother name both will be related to me as long as my name going to be as an applicant on both forms which will be a conflict, right?
more over I can not be the applicant and on the same time ask my spouse to sign the form as the applicant of that form, hence I believe both forms should be going in two different tracks, one for husband's details and other for spouse's details
kindly share enrich this discussion as I am also still confused about that

Do not follow misleading instructions and do not be confused. Better watch this video:

Mr. Ksa0510, nothing personal, I beg your apologies for this "confrontation" but I just want to provide people as clear guidelines as possible.

Calm down guys..

Stay blessed

Thanks

Well, I hope it will work either way after all and all of us get our visas :)

I tried to listen to this video on the link many times but something wrong with it
can you kindly summarize the instruction given on this tutorial mainly for our point of discussion
