imm5257 schedule 1 driving me crazy

Help pls. I am trying to apply for my parents TRV. Not a supervise because my income is not high enough so I am not eligible.
Anyway, the imm5257 schedule 1 form is driving me crazy. I click validate and the last name appears on the top right corner. No bar code appears. I try to upload it to the application and the system won't accept it. It just won't.

Why don't use the new portal? All these forms are in a questionnaire format and very easy to fill out!
