Hi everyone! I apologize if there is someone who posted a similar question like this.
So my wife received a IMM1442 saying she must leave Canada within 4 weeks of entry. She is a South Korean citizen and I am a Canadian citizen and we were going to start the sponsorship process soon after entering Canada (as Korea is visa free for 6 months), but due to a medical check up she has to go back to Korea. We will be there for 2-3 weeks and coming back to Canada after that to start the sponsorship process (deciding whether to do outside or inside still). She visited Canada once a year ago, while we were dating and had zero problems at customs.
Now the question is, how much of a problem is this piece of paper upon re-entry? I will be leaving with her a few days before the requested date, but I hear that this piece of paper will not be removed upon departure. It may get removed on re-entry, and it will definitely bring up a red flag at customs from what I hear. Anyone have any experience with these kinds of things?
The paper is pretty basic:
Leave by this date, prohibited from employment, prohibited from joining any educational institution, academy, professional or vocational training course.
The reason she got it was that they were not convinced that she was going to leave the country. She had a round trip ticket that had a departure date about 6 months away. Originally that was the plan, but due to the medical check up, she had to leave sooner and I had explained that to the officer. Unfortunately, I had no English documents to support this and I was called a liar and to tell the truth. I thought I was doing them a favor by telling them in advance, but look where that got me...sigh...
Anyways any help is welcome! Thanks for reading!
