Hi everybody,

I'm adding to my PR application (Common-law - Inside) the application to "change conditions or extend my stay in Canada - worker" to apply for an OWP.
In the checklist it states "Statutory Declaration of Common-law Union" if applicable. Do we need to complete this form?

I really appreciate ever advice or comment. Thank you!

Hey Germangirl-
"Techinically", this form is intended if you are going to have a co-sponsor that is your common law (for example- you are sponsoring your mom, and your common law spouse is co-signing on the sponsorship).

However, alot of people (including myself) send this in as additional proof when they are sponsoring their common law partner. Another member just recently posted that they did not include this form, and Buffalo immigration actually requested it, which held up their application. For additional proof, and to prevent any possible delays in your application, I would recommend submitting it... its pretty simple and easy to get signed, which certainly beats the hassles of not having it.
