Hello,

On form IMM 5669 on question 8, they ask for what someone was doing since they were 18, eg studying, travelling, working, etc. What if someone has been studying in a different city for 4 years doing college but they come back home (another city) for a month for their holidays, should this 1 month, when they visit home, be included in this question? or would you just put the 4 years as studying?

I would put 4 years as studying. May be someone who is more experience and specialist can answer better. But in my opinion if you reside atleast 6 months thn u can mention

First of all, you should try to put down major blocks of activities. 4 years of university in another country is one activity. If you come home for 1 month, it would not impact you if you don't put that down.

If during those 4 years, you went to yet another country for internship or something else, especially if it's a very long period of time of a few months, you should mention them. If that's over 6 months, not only do you have to mention it, you will need to get a police certificate for that country.

Short visits, vacations within that period of major activity, you are usually ok not mentioning it. I mean, if you are in France studying, but go over to Germany or England occasionally in the weekend, you cannot possible remember the exact dates or how many times you did that.

If during any of the visits, even short ones, you have some issues with the law, then you should definitely mention them so that you would be consistent in your application as you have to mention any issues with the law anywhere anytime.
