IMM 5540E Question

Hey guys, I got a question regarding the last part of this application form. At the end of the form it asks to "prove additional proof on a separate piece of paper to show our relationship to be genuine" We organized our application forms and documents in 3 separate envelopes.

For example: Envelope 1:Sponsor Application
Envelope 2rincipal Applicant
Envelope 3roof of relationship

Can i just write a statement and refer them to the evidences in Envelope 3? I am abit confused here.

The original organization of your application documents will most likely cease to exist once it reaches CIC receiving clerk. He/She will go over the docs/forms, will scan it into the system and rearrange as CIC sees it fit. So, if you want to point to a specific document/proof, you should make it in a verbose enough way to be understandable regardless of docs physical organization.

My advice, make a cover sheet for each envelope saying the content (what the VO will find inside it). In regard with the 3rd envelope, you can write a note in 2nd cover sheet mentioning that in the envelope 3 they can can find more evidence and substantial proofs of your genuine relationship.

I really recommend make a cover sheet for each envelope stating what is included in each envelope, in that way you will make the things more easy to the VO. Hope it helps, any doubts just ask.

We are planning to label each envelope and make a content page listing whats in each envelope, but we are putting that page inside each envelope. I hope this makes sense? As for the 2nd cover sheet I dont get what you mean? Should I just write a statement and clip it o the IMM 5540E form directing them to the evidences? Thanks

I assuming that in the envelope 2 you will put all the forms and the necessary documents requested in the checklist (according with the place where you live) of the sponsored person. If so, as you know some questions of the forms, e.g. IMM 5490 (spouse questionnaire), ask for proofs, if you are not putting these proofs in the same envelope (envelope 2) I'm suggesting you to put a note in the coversheet of the envelope 2 stating that the proofs required in these forms are located in the envelope 3, and that they can find more evidence and proofs of your relationship there also.

It's okay put the cover sheet inside wache envelope, just remember that the instructions in the CIC website said "Place the barcode page(s) on the top of your application (forms and supporting documents) when you submit it", so put the coversheet after the barcode pages in the envelope 2.
