Hi All Need your valuable assistance. i m sponsoring my spouse who is currently in India(outbound application). I have a question in IMM 5540 question 10.

Qn 10: Were you yourself sponsored to come to India? --> I have obtained PR on Highly skilled immigration program..should I check YES?

If Yes, when ? --> which date do I need to mention here? I became PR on 21 June 2009. Should i mention this date or the day when I actually sent my application which was in 2006..? bit confused.. pls let me know

what type of sponsorship in my case? --> is it highly skilled immigration program?

On question 10, you should check NO because you were not sponsored to come to Canada, you applied under your own merits.

on qn 9.. it says.. which canadian office issued your confirmation of PR?.. I have actually landed in Toronto with my confirmation of PR although I have received my PR from Nova Scotia.. what should I mention here? I checked my confirmation of PR document.. Nothing is stated there..

How did NS issue your PR visa to you? If you applied under the skilled worker program, your PR visa would have been issued by your visa office, not by NS. If you are not sure, write two lines, first line "PR visa issued by ..." and second line "landed in Toronto".

Thanks for the reply. I lived in Germany before for close to 7 years (from 2001-2008). I had applied for my PR in 2006 and I had sent all my documents to the Canadian High commission in Berlin.. So can I mention
"confirmation of PR is issued by Canada High Commission in Berlin. Landed in Toronto" ?? would somehting like this suffice?

Canada's visa office in Berlin is an embassy, not a high commission.
So your PR visa was issued by the Embassy of Canada in Berlin, and you landed in Toronto.

However, they would have understood what you meant, in any case.
