IMM 5406 - Who needs to sign the form

Hello,

my husband is going to sponsor me and he is a canadian citizen. Does he also have to fill out and sing an IMM 5406 form?

We already sent the sponsorship application yesterday and it has arrived alreaady, is there a way we can send in this additional form to avoid that the application gets sent back unprocessed?
