Hello,

I will be submitting my application for outland family sponsorship visa.

One of my siblings has been studying abroad, however will move back to my home country in a month's time. Should I write the current address or our home address where my sibling will eventually live.

Many thanks for the assistance.

Write the address than will be current at the time of submitting the application. If you're submitting after your sibling moves back, then you can give the home address. If not, give their current address.

They really dont focus on where they are living as much as who your siblings are. They will do background checks on everyone. As long as they are listed u should be ok. Honesty is the way to go. Double check your forms and make sure they r the latest edition. If not they will return the application. That happened to me. Best of luck!

They look into your background to see if you or any of your family are a threat to Canada. That is the main purpose of it. If you have any criminal charges against you or your family attach a letter with the explanation. They will also check to see if everything on your application is true. Employment, travel history, education etc.

Thank you for your response. No criminal charges - Everything on my application is true to my knowledge. However, I have an estranged sibling and I am not certain about some of his details which need to go in the 5406 - email address, address and marital status. Given that according to CIC's definition of family - siblings are not included - should I just give the details which I think are accurate. Will they do a background check on my siblings who are not a part of my application.

Also I do not have the intent to misrepresent - if I provide an incorrect address for my sibling will it affect my application.

Thank you

When I filled my Spouses application I entered his siblings names , address, marital status etc. I believe the reason they want u to list immediate family aswell is if in the future u decide to apply for them to come to Canada they they will confirm with your original application that they are listed as siblings. Good luck on your application! It is worth the time you put in it in the application in the long run. No one knows everything about yourself more than you. Hiring someone to complete your documents is an extra step and not to mention the time u still need to put into it and your money. Hope it all goes well.
