the IMM 5406 form

I am canadian Sponsor

He is american coming here. no kids

do I have to fill out a IMM5406 as well as the sponsor?

he listed is mother and father and sister on the application but they are not coming.

Check the Checklist. IMM 5406 should only be completed by the Principal Applicant (the sponsee).

does that mean his family has to fill one out as well even though they are not coming?

Not at all, it's why I am here..

Only he fills one out from his perspective. So Mom, Dad, spouse (you?), brothers, sisters, sign and date.

Heads up: this form is tied to Schedule A. On Schedule A make absolutely sure there is no gaps in time. Otherwise they will demand it be redone.

And use a computer to type in the info, or black pen.. that's in the instructions

Together they form the basis of the background check. Error in one will have CIC requesting you to redo both.

I wonder if both of us have to fill the form..

I really want make sure i only have to fill this form once. Some say, if you not sure just fill it. I don't like put extra sauce

Why it says '' The pricipal applicant, their spouse (if applicable) have to fill their own doc''

Hypothetic situation it's applicable
son who sponsor his mother and father?

I have same Q about 5669. I think the awnser is don't fill!

For the purpose of the application, when it says that the applicant and their spouse, it does include the sponsor. These forms are used for different application types, where the applicant may have a spouse that is not the sponsor (such as parents and grandparents).

The principal applicant fills out 5406 and 5669, while the sponsor does not.
