"In the 5 years preceding this application, did you become a permanent resident after being sponsored as a spouse, common-law or conjugal partner?"
(If you answer "yes" to this question it advises you that you are not eligible to sponsor and should not submit your application)

Is it safe to assume they're talking about becoming a permanent resident of Canada? Because I recently became a permanent resident of Brazil after being sponsored as a spouse, but as I'm a Canadian citizen by birth, I can't imagine that this would bar me from sponsoring my husband to return to Canada with me.
