Hi all,

I am a Canadian citizen living in Toronto who is sponsoring his wife to come to Canada from India. In IMM 0008 - Q4, the question asks:

Immigration Office requested for processing this application

What would my spouse write here?

Thanks!

It is New Delhi - they are processing applications for Permanent Residence in India.

As per CIC instructions:
"You must select the visa office that serves your country of nationality or the country where you have been legally admitted for at least one year."

Thanks so much. Should I write CPC - New Delhi or CHC - New Delhi or just leave it as New Delhi?

I only wrote the name of the city where the office is located. In your case, New Delhi.

If you are really uncertain of how to edit the answer just wait a few more hours so everyone in Canada begins their day and then you should get some answers from more experienced members.

However:
New Delhi is a Visa Office and not a CPC. And the question asks you for a visa office. So should you want to be complete and precise, you must write "Immigration Office" or "Visa Office" New Delhi.

CPCs:
- Mississauga is for outland sponsorship approval [stage one] and PR application completeness checks only
- Vegreville is for inland sponsorship applications
and
- CPP Ottawa is for pre-screened [by CPC-M] applications for US sponsored persons only - in regards to PR applications, anyway.

The question you mentioned is being asked because some people [principal applicants] have resided in more than one country throughout their life and those applicants are able to chose their Visa Office [based on where it takes less time to process stage 2, in most cases - lucky them!].

Called CIC and they say that either write Chandigarh and New Delhi as the Visa office. No need to write CPC or CHC.
