Hi guys, I have Permanent Resident (PR) in Canada and I have already applied for my wife's sponsorship in April,2012 at Mississauga case Processing Centre. We do NOT have any children.
In the form IMM0008 there was a column called dependents. I have removed that dependents column electronically.
Q.1. Is my wife my dependent? Do I have to fill in her details there?

Q.2. The time when I submitted the application, IMM5481 was the old version that was 2011. I submitted the old version. Now I have noticed the version is 04/2012. Needless to say, rest of the forms were current version. Is CIC going to return my application and I have to submit it again?

I am very much stressed. Please inform guys.

Thanks.

No

They will more than likely just send that form back to you and you will have to redo it. I had a form (not that one) sent back to me and I was approved the next day so it's alright if that happens. But because it was April that you sent it, they might just keep the old forms as well. Either way, your spot in line doesn't get changed :)

I am very much stressed. Please inform guys.

Thanks.

Thanks very much. I am not sure I guess from Mississauga process is bit different. If they return the application I guess I will have to resubmit the whole and the process will take another 3 months.

Please correct if I am wrong.

thx.

Usually if you need to submit again or submit a particular IMM form, you will not have to wait the whole 82 days...just add an additional month.

Good response. But how CIC will come to know the documents are resubmitted? CIC usually arrange the posts according to the dates. Do they actually provide the file number once they ask to resubmit or what so ever.

thx.

They usually assign you an UCI number and when you re-submit you put that number down and your file will proceed to be processed as soon as the new info is received.

KJG is correct. It happened to me when hubby didn't sign the right box on a form. We got the officer's name (or rather, initials) and our UCI. We sent it back to that officer and the next day got approval.

When you submit supplementary documents (like new meds) where do you send them to? They requested new exams and they included an address label to be affixed to the envelope when I mail those, but I'd rather courier the documents to make it faster, is that ok or do I have to send the docs to the address they provide? notice the address is a P.O. Box for the CPC in Mississauga, On.

you can use canada post courier to that address and track for confirmation of receipt......

They have to pick that PO Box up everyday... the sheer volume of applications and follow up documents that are sent there... anyways I mailed my application (Canada Post) on April 20 which was a Friday, I am an hour away from Miss., (in after thought since we had no way of knowing they had actually got it, we had wished we sent it by courier) but when we got the sponsorship approval letter it was marked as received April 23rd Monday.

My whole application was returned for the same out of date form. They gave me no UCI number, and no reference return date. The notice only stated the form was out of date and to re apply.

I've since contacted the call center and the nice lady informed me that I should not have to wait the time period again, and I am to call back on Sept. 12, one month after my re-submission.

KJG, thanks. that's nice and dandy.... when you are in Canada!!

I however live outside of Canada and need to ship medicals back, so can I use the courier address (2 Robert Speck Pkwy... etc.) or do they definitely want it at the P.O.Box??? the problem is that I definitely want to use UPS, it's safer, faster, although more expensive but I rather keep the piece of mind...

another idea is to UPS it to the courier address using UPS packaging and put the label on the inside envelope, whaddaya think?

UPS is fine, just as long as it gets there :)
