I completed my B.tech (Mechanical) in July 2015. I'm aiming for ms in Sept intake. Someone told me that my academics aren't good enough to get admission in any descent Canadian university but during my own online research I found couple of Universities with requirements matching my scores. I'm very confused as in which one is true.
Here are my credentials:
10th: 79.6%
12th: 61.4%
B.tech: 7.38 (66.42%)
IELST: 8

Can I pursue ms in mechanical with these scores? If yes, can anyone please list a few? I'm running out of time and need to take a decision very soon.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

66% for mechanical is not bad. I am guessing this information was given to u by an agent? agents often lie next they will tell u universities cost more. they get comission from colleges to send people to do diploma/pg diploma and universities dont pay them hence they try and force u to go to a college. I have seen people with60-61% get into masters in mechanical.

Yes, I was suggested to go for centennial (diploma). Can you name the universities that took students with 60-61% mentioned by you?

Thank you.
University of Alberta (60%) and University of British Columbia (min 65%) are also apparently in my range. Do I stand a chance?

well talking about your chance...
getting admission in a government uni is quite tough cuz they have limited seats for international students and they some times ask for GRE tests

while private universities like mcgill etc do accept

I dont know what he is talking about Mcgill is public university(publicly funded). Most of the universities r public universities very few private universities(i dont know if they even exist). There are no government universities there are only publicly funded universities.
GRE is not required for a lot of universities getting into university is tough is a misconception spread by agents. That being said studies in a university mostly master is tough.
