Hello everyone, so as I stated on the subject I'm starting my PR application and I don't know where to begin.

How do I go about the police certificate and clearences? I'm from California, US and I'm currently in BC, Canada. Applying for outland.
And since I'm due for a extrnsion soon how much more time should/could I ask for? I'll be requesting an extension so I can finish preparing for my PR application under common-law partner.

Thank you all in advance for taking the time to read my post. :)

Hi

You can apply for your FBI cert through a channeler, which is significantly faster than applying directly to the FBI. You can have your fingerprints done here in Canada. and mail it off.

Ask for a year. You should pay the PR fees now and include the receipt as proof that you are serious about applying for PR.

Ok!
Thank you! canuck_in_uk :D

P.s Do you know of a good channeler? Or do you recommend one? :)
Thank you for all your help

Check the IRCC website.

The FBI website also has a list of approved Channelers.

I suggest sending two fingerprint cards, just in case there are issues with any of your `digits' on the first card. It's probably a nominal expense (~$10) for the extra card, but it could save you time and money in the long run.

Contact the local Commissionaires office in your area to inquire about their pricing for fingerprinting services.

if you're finding it difficult to find someone to do fingerprints, you can also try local school boards. when i went through, the local school board in my area had an independent technician come in weekly to do fingerprinting since it's required to work in schools and i got mine done there.

Ok, thank you both! Really appreciate the info. :)
