Really I'm cared that ours new applications will get longer because of the ret conservatives of the PAQ. Also I'm scared if Justin Trudeau doesn't get elected. This could create a huge backlog like in the Harper administration. What do you think it's going to happen??.

I've read that 50% of Canadians are not in favor of immigration, you're right if the conservatives are elected then you could expect changes in the immigration laws.

The backlash is more towards the refugee situation. Canadians generally support skilled immigration.

People from the west are generally not happy with Trudeau.
The immigration policies will be a big election issue especially those regarding refugees and illegal immigrants.
In my opinion if the conservatives get in there will be changes. ( good/bad ) ?..... Expect a wall in places.
I would be mindful of the polls and some media articles, it may just depend on whose side they are on.
Take a good look around your community and see whats happening.

Canadá has grown a lot with Justin Trudeau, it's more equal with Justin Trudeau, inmigration policies and families reunification programs became more efficient. He legalized marijuana and its rolling all the cash for the government taking away the pie from the organized crime. If the conservatives win expect this to affect all inmigrants. Do you think people make differences between "legal" and "illegal" inmigration lol, fachists just hate inmigrants and a new wave of alt-right inn Canada is going to make the life of ALL inmigrants HARDER.

They definitely do differentiate. When the conservative government was in power, they actually prioritized skilled immigration - making it easier for certain professions. They did make it harder in other areas however. But it is not correct to say they are against all immigration

Well family reunification is **** up

Well family reunification is **** up

yes that got impacted negatively. But the FSW was streamlined. PGWP was improved. Like I said, some streams were negatively impacted while others improved. It was not all immigration.

Can’t imagine much will change with skilled migration and family reunification (spouses and children). Definitely no walls going up:)

Exactly, some of the immigration policies made were purely for partisan purposes
The Liberals are always beating the drum that the population is getting older and we need more immigration
Sure , then he doubles the amount allowed in the PGP program, not exactly the young people needed to grow the economy , just the opposite, that demographic will more than likely be making use of social services versus contributing to them
He then more then doubled the amount allowed under the medical admissibility program, without even consulting the provinces , which controls health care in the provinces , which will result in more people added to already long waiting lists for medical services
Or the watering down of RO, 2 out of 5 is literally a joke
3 out of 5 years to gain citizenship for one of the most respected passports in the world ???
When a government is more concerned about the people coming in, versus those already here, is when I call my MP and voice my concern

I hope you are not an inmigrant or have parents that need to be reunited with you. You are a heartless person if you are an inmigrant and think the politics were "partisans". When they tap your door, you are going to cry for help. You need to be more empathetic. A lot of people in these forums are cold as ****. I suggest you get off your high horse.

Bringing parents to Canada is not a right, it's a privilege. It was never guaranteed when people chose to immigrate here. This topic has been covered heavily on this forum and always causes an uproar. Would I love to bring my grandparents here? Yes. Do i understand that elderly people cause a strain on our social programs? Also yes. Think logically and don't react with your emotions. All of these people CHOSE to leave their parents behind for a better life in Canada. We all make choices in life, and you can't expect a whole country to pay for those choices.

And before you start calling people heartless, stop to remember that we are all on this forum to help people immigrate on a voluntary basis and are not being compensated for our time.
