Hello Filipino Friends!

Im PR in Canada and would like to invite my Filipino mother to Canada. I can sponsor her with her stay all lthrough out and I can show these documents. My concern is my mom is unemployed, no assets, no bank accounts. Is there anyway I could just go on with applying without these documents? Will appreciate your helpful response and advise.

You have to show some kind of ties that will convince the VO that your mom will not overstay her visit to Canada. You will also have to satisfy the VO that her cost will be covered. The finances of the inviting party are only secondary. By not showing any assets of your mother, you are severely weakening the case. Maybe you can have some money transferred to her account and let it sit for 6 months so that the bank accounts reflect this. In your explanation letter, you could say it was a gift to your and she will use part of it to support her trip.

Most people suggest to start with 2-3 weeks so maybe a month is a bit long for the first time around.
