I am also from the Philippines and want to work in Canada and immigrate with my family. I have made some reseach on several sites and what I deduced from it all is that to get to Canada faster you either have to have employer arrangement or a provincial nominee? (am i right?)

In case I chose the former, which is to have a job offer in Canada, while I am here in the Philippines, how to I go about doing that? I mean does that simply mean sending out resumes to different job openings that fit my skills and line of work? How will the employer select me? In case they find my skills suited to the job opening they have?

Help me I am clueless=(

You need to find a job, the employer will take care of the work permit. The hard part is convincing an employer to go through that trouble to hire you before you have even met. It might be easier to get a job offer if you come as a tourist and do interviews but try looking online first.
