Hi, I'm a PR in Canada since 2015, but my girlfriend only has a temporary visa (Tourist) and she is here (Toronto) studying english for two months. What can we do to get her a visa so she can stay with me? Is the only way marrying her?

She can apply for a study permit and attend school in universities and after graduation, she can apply for Post Graduate Work Permit which gives her the freedom of working for any employer. That can give her the option to apply for PR on her own too depending on work experience. The duration of a PGWP is depended upon on how long she attend school for. Either than that, marriage is the other option but you'll need to prove that your relationship is genuine.

Yes you'd have to marry her. Sounds like her English skills may not be strong enough for applying for PR through EE. Has she been working in her home country? Study permit could be an option if she wants to study and can pay tuition. There is also the IEC depending on age and country.

Gotcha.. About the marriage option, what you mean with prove that the relationship is genuine? How can we prove that? Pictures of us together? I don't get it.

You're right, her english skills are very limited.. that's why she's here studying. About a college, she wouldn't be able to pay for it herself. That's something we think about for the future, but I would pay for it. Yes, she was working in her country, but with low salary. I am the one paying for her english course in here, for example. So I believe the marriage would probably be the only option.

Well anything from pictures, emails from when you two were apart or letters from friends and family saying that your relationship is genuine.
