PR resident in a relationship with a Visitor (Common law?)

I was checking IRCC website, but the instructions I found were for me to bring someone from another country. Not really for the case where she is already in here. Would you have the direct link to the page you meant? I would really appreciate that. Thanks again.

PR resident in a relationship with a Visitor (Common law?)

Hi everyone, I am a permanent resident in Canada, more specifically in Toronto, ON, since 2015. My girlfriend came from Brazil with a visit/tourist visa and she stayed here for 6 months, as allowed, and she decided to extend her visa in order to be able to stay here properly for more 6 months...

I'm a PR but my girlfriend only has a visit/tourist visa..?

You're right, her english skills are very limited.. that's why she's here studying. About a college, she wouldn't be able to pay for it herself. That's something we think about for the future, but I would pay for it. Yes, she was working in her country, but with low salary. I am the one paying...

Gotcha.. About the marriage option, what you mean with prove that the relationship is genuine? How can we prove that? Pictures of us together? I don't get it.

I'm a PR but my girlfriend only has a visit/tourist visa..?

Hi, I'm a PR in Canada since 2015, but my girlfriend only has a temporary visa (Tourist) and she is here (Toronto) studying english for two months. What can we do to get her a visa so she can stay with me? Is the only way marrying her?

What if I was married when receiving PR but then get divorced?

Oh, good. So, even if I decide in the next years to get married again to someone else, I wouldn't need to wait for 5 years before sponsoring, right?!

What if I was married when receiving PR but then get divorced?

I remember seeing somewhere about this.. that you should stay for at least 2 years married after the immigration. And, even you you separate, you can only try to get married again and sponsor someone after 5 years. Is that correct?

What if I was married when receiving PR but then get divorced?

Hello guys, I was married when I got my PR card here in Canada and this was like a year ago. Things are not going well in the marriage anymore and we are really considering a divorce. Our marriage was not in Canada, os we would need to deal with papers outside of canada too. Would we loose our...

I´m also waiting for medical request, but my PER date is December 14. You need to remember that the medical request will have a different time line/delay for each of us, even in the same NOC. What matters in this case is the VO. Some are faster than others.

You´ll probably receive your PER in a few weeks. Can´t you call your bank to know about the DD? My app date is September 29 and only got PER on January, so.. Your app is from October, so you´ll probably receive your PER a few weeks after mine.

I´m also waiting for medical request, and I believe it will take around 20 or 30 days after PER. But it depends on the VO. Some VOs are taking 20 - 30 days.. others are taking 50 - 60 days..etc.
