i've been here in canada since march 2011 but my working permit just came out on the 30th of november last year. i just started my 24 mons contract with my employer. they started paying for my tax in december. yesterday i found out thAT i'm 4weeks pregnant with this guy im dating since july 2011. i have no idea of whats gonna happen and of what im suppose to do. should i keep the baby? or opt for abortion. if i'll keep the baby how is it gonna affect my papers since im just starting?
please if someone can give me information on how can this affect my status here in canada.
any response will be much appreciated.... :-\ :'(

hi pia,

I have a friend who had the same issue 2 yrs ago, She kept the baby.

She continued working for her employer and gave her options on where to give birth. She chose Canada after she gave birth She took her newly born daughter home in the Philippines but Canadians are naturally born generous and compassionate so before they release her they made sure that she applied for her re-entry visa. I think she came back after a month or so not really sure but she found a new employer and they continued paying her taxes. So, don't worry its not gonna affect your papers though it might prolong the processing bec the fact that you're changing employers and the days that you've gone out of Canada. Live in Caregivers have 4 years to complete 24 mos, you still have a lot of time my dear. I would suggest that you have a heart to heart talk to your employer about your situation. don't worry that you're pregnant 'coz its a blessing! the bright side is you'll have a child who will be a Canadian Citizen.

Hope it helps :)

Hello everybody. I am a filipina who applied for a Canadian Working Visa as a live-in Caregiver. I had my medicals Last March 5th and was told my Visa will arrive in 3 months time if there will be no complications.

My employer informed me that he is not hiring me anymore but they will find a job for me when i'm there. My problem is, I got pregnant and i am 6 weeks on the way. I just discover this when my period didn't arrive 1st week of April.

What should I do? Will I be allowed entry to Canada? Will someone hire me there pregnant if I will be granted entry?

Please help me understand my situation. I don't want to lose this chance. I am married and have 4 daughters. I really need to go and work there for a living.

Hi Tuesday!

It's just a good thing that you're done your Medicals...You could still enter Canada even though you're pregnant but make sure my dear that your employer will still sponsor you and they will just release you upon arrival so you can find a new employer. when will you receive your visa?

Hi Vincelynn, Thank you so much for easing my worries by answering my questions. Actually, my employer is the father of my father-in-law who is a canadian (he is the 2nd hubby of my mother-in-law) who really wants to help me reach Canada. It's true that Canadians are born a natural compassionate people and my father-in-law is one of you. He asked his dad to sponsor me just to have legal working papers, later his dad got tired of the paperworks and wanted to drop this thing off. Dad-in-law got an affidavit of authorithy from a lawyer to the embassy and we are hoping this will be approve. If things favors my side the visa will arrive in 3-4 months. By then i will be bloating. Will somebody still hire me there even if i'm several months pregnant? My dad-n-law doesn't know bout my pregnancy yet and he and mom-n-law will be here in the Philippines next week. I am hesitant to tell them because my mom-in-law has always been skeptical bout me getting pregnant often, and now, in a wrong time.

Vincelynn, Please don't get tired answering and giving me advices here. This is the only comfort i have now..THank you so much.

Dear Vincelynn,

I wanted to pm you but i am not allowed by the page. I don't know how and why. Please tell me how to do it. When I clicked on the "new message" it says "you are not allowed to send private message".

Guess, I will just have to be honest about my situation and face the consequences of my irresponsible behavior. I was specifically told by my in-laws not to get pregnant again, and yet!

Thank you so much for the understanding. I hope we can talk more when I learn hoe to pm here. Take care Vincelynn. God bless you and your family.
