I'm currently awaiting response on an overseas application for my husband who will be coming here from Lebanon...... upon reading the site criteria for applicants, one of the stipulations shows that you cannot have lived apart from your spouse for over one year.
Does this only apply to common law couples? I haven't seen my husband in almost two years and we just sent the application in late October 2009, but we also have a son together so I can't see how the fact that we're living apart for this long should affect our application being approved. My husband has also tried applying twice for visas to come here for a visit when I gave birth to our son, but immigration kept denying him so it kind of impedes our ability to be able to even see each other let alone live together.
If someone could give me some insight on this, it would be greatly appreciated
