Poor me,
An other 1200 dollars for my lawyer to send application for COPR replacement.
Lets see if i wasted my money? or they will ask me for the COPR at my test interview

Is there any particular reason why you have to pay up $1200 through a lawyer for this? Really? ??? ??? ??? ???

As PMM just said: You could have done it yourself for $30 and a stamp.

As others have mentioned, I believe you got royally screwed over on paying 1200 for a replacement. Your lawyer just made a 3900% profit on your application.

BTW, i wasn't asked for any of my originals at the interview.

I would say at least you wasted $1169 — Sorry for you

But looks like your lawyer is good in getting money.
Assuming he helped you with applying for citizenship as well.
When you showed up he should have let you know that you require the original later on. If you have applied for a replacement back in June/July you would have it by December/January.

If he helped you I would asked him why he wants $1200 for something that cost $30 plus filling out the form and why he missed to inform you that you require the original.

Honestly, I'd try to recover some of that $1200. Even a $200 fee would've been too much. Now $1200? Nah buddy, you best be going back to that lawyers' office tomorrow and demand an explanation and at least 80% of that money back. But then again, he/she probably made you sign some document right? We don't have original COPR as well but i had a soft copy. We applied for replacement in parallel with citizenship application.

We received the replacement before out test and interview. I took copy of original and replacement for interview but gave only photocopy of original when interviewer asked.

I mentioned that it was a photocopy and she said its fine..

You need your original record of landing for your interview or it WILL trigger an RQ.

Also, you need the original for the day of ceremony as well. You may not be able to take the oath without it.

You finally need to keep it for when you apply for your pension in Canada.

You can apply to replace it. it takes around 6 months I believe.

Maybe a copy works for interview, but you need the original for ceremony for sure. The oath letter specifically asks for it. They will ask for the original and stamp it.
