if you contact your MP, did anyone see any results?

I've read that some people contacted their MP referencing delays and no results. Then what is the point of contacting the MP? I have contacted mine, will see in 1-2 weeks if they have any answers..

I contacted my MP and got a call back in 5 mins!!!
Also after when i got my GCMS notes there was a line which said MPs assistant called and the answer they gave them is clearly typed out.

They can't speed things up but they can request an update for your application status if it has been going on too long. CIC will respond to their request for information much quicker than say the applicant.

It also helps to create political pressure to address the problems (delays and lack of transparency) in the citizenship process.
