I have a quick question. If i meet the RO of two years and at the time of PR renewal If I am out of country. within how many days i need to apply for the PRTD after the PR card is expired

In my case i met the RO..i am planning to leave the country now... not sure when I will return....ofcourse the PR card will expire by then.....so i wanted to know the Max time frame within which I need to apply for PRTD....can i apply after 1 or 2 yr of the PR card expiring...

You need to provide accurate information about your timeline, you must meet the RO for a rolling 5 years. At the most you can stay 3 years but that's assuming that you would come back before the first day of the 4th year and that you did not leave Canada at all during the two years prior to your departure and that you will not leave at all for two years after coming back. Obviously this is not a recommend plan of action no matter what as you may have unforeseen events that will require you to travel which could put you at risk with your RO in the future.

I'll also add that what matters is your RO and not the validity of your PR card. As long as you meet your RO you will not have any issue obtaining a PRTD even if your PR card is expired.

Normally you should apply for PRTD right before you plan to go back to Canada and your PR card has expired. Usually PRTD is valid for short period (varies from several days to few months) so there is no point to apply a year or two before you plan to enter Canada.

Pre-Assessed..
When you are ready to return to Canada, you apply for a PR TD and they will check if you meet the RO for the past 5 years at that point. You can be outside Canada for a maximum of 1094 days in a 5 year period. If you were in Canada for 2 years straight, the longest you can be outside after that is 3 years less than a day.
