If pregnant spouse waits for health card but principal husband leaves . . .

Suppose me and wife go to toronto and apply for health card . .

after 1.5 month i have to take trip home for work and then i return - - - my 3 month waiting is broken but my wifes is ok -- so will she get health card and will she be able to use that for her pregnancy and delivery ? even if i have to reapply for my health card ?
