Parent sponsorship which have to be outland sponsorships cannot be processed by CPP-Ottawa as they only process Permanent Resident Visa applications from within Canada (inland) and the U.S. ONLY. as per CIC website.petersiddle28 said:Yes, if there are here and MORE than 1 year left, you can even choose CPP-O ( Ottawa ) as office of choice, but upto CIC-Mississauga to grant you that if you do, processing is faster as compared to home country office, judging by past cases

But absolutely, your parents can enter or remain in Canada on their Supervisa during the validity of the supervisa (for up to 2 years each time they enter) and have an outland sponsorship application for a PR ongoing in their country of citizenship.
Only US outland and inland Canada. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/canada/ottawa.asp#permanentYYZguy416 said:That's not true. CPP-Ottawa does process parent sponsorship applications even if the parent does not live in Canada.
I think (personal opinion) in your situation as you have not yet applied for a PR for them, or if you do not apply early next week for their PR sponsorship with all of the required information, I would apply for the supervisa for them, and if the program for PR is open in 2015 (which I think it will be, similarly with a cap as this year) you can apply for them when they are already here on their supervisa.nush78l said:My parents do not have super visa yet. They have been to Canada multiple times (about 4 times) on a visitors visa. I am considering the super visa option (just to have a multiple entry visa in hand rather than apply each time), but would also like to sponsor them.
I am concerned they might not be allowed to travel to Canada once I have lodged a PR application. Not sure whether to sponsor them first and then hope they get a regular visitors visa or get super visa for 3-4 years and then submit application.

There is a chance they will expand the pilot in Ottawa but as of right now they are assigned to process the above. There are some other apps they are taking over from places for example Beirut. Additionally CPP=Ottawa's mandate for PR sponsorship are spousal applications and not parent sponsorships. Even the applications for parents CPP-Ottawa currently processes are processed in 58 months.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2011/ob353.asp Just because a few people on a forum said their file was sent to CPP-Ottawa doesn't mean that CPP-Ottawa process and will process these types of applications therefore I do not understand your wanting to prove me wrong, where I am providing information directly from CIC and from http://data.gc.ca and you are providing information based on a couple of posts in 2011.
They took it as a pilot project and if you see in parents forum, few have gone to them again but its not entirely OFF, its quite possible it can go to them. Majority of folks ( as per parents forum ) who got lucky were actually from CPP-O and the ones which went to home country are still waitingsunshinemrc said:Additionally, you may want to read the below bulletin.
